Doctor Who Regenerations: Ranked From Worst To Best

4. The Eighth Doctor To The War Doctor

Since Doctor Who was revived in 2005, fans had been crying to see a regeneration from the Eighth Doctor to the newly cast ninth... While 2013's The Night Of The Doctor didn't give Whovians quite what they'd been craving, they did get a wonderful minisode crammed full of fan service which ramped up the hype for the 50th anniversary even more. Having crash landed during the Time War, the Eighth Doctor finds himself on Karn. The resident Sisterhood manage to bring him back to life temporarily and allow the Doctor to choose what he needs to be in his next incarnation. As a result of this, fans were treated to a regeneration which introduced the wonderful John Hurt as the War Doctor. This regeneration not only gave desperate fans a sense of continuity between classic and modern Doctor Who but it also allowed for a great deal of fan service in the process. The regeneration itself isn't actually seen on screen but viewers were just happy to see Paul McGann as the Doctor again. It had been far too long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylI5ZrmkkOM
