BBCMichelle Gomez is an actress who has had a guest role in crime drama Rebus and appeared in the Channel 4 series The Book Group, but is probably best known for her role as Sue White in hospital comedy Green Wing. Not the first to appear from this series, as her co-stars Tamsin Greig and Olivia Colman previously appeared in The Long Game and The Eleventh Hour, respectively. Released as recently as the end of last month, the statement that Gomez will be appearing in the series is the most fact filled of all. Similar to Keeley Hawes, Gomez takes the honour of having her character's name released along with her own: the Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere, and the announcement being made with a picture of Gomez in costume. In addition to this, the official Doctor Who twitter account also tweeted a behind the scenes photo of Gomez as the Gatekeeper in costume, arm in arm with Capaldi's Doctor, AND with a legion of Cybermen behind them. From seven months, there is now just seven weeks to go until Deep Breath is finally broadcast, and with all this information regarding just one character, it would seem as though the BBC really are spoiling us.
