Doctor Who: Series 9 Episode Titles And Plots Announced
5. Episode 8: The Zygon Inversion
For the concluding part of this story, Moffat steps in to assist Harness with the scriptwriting. Is this a hint to the episode including a heavy dose of season arc plot, or did the script just need some TLC? Perhaps we should move quickly on to the episode's quote:
"Humans cannot accept us the way we really are. If we cannot hide, we must fight. You’re going to be the first. You’re going to be the first to make the humans see."
Sure sounds like a Zygon talking to either Clara or Osgood, doesn't it? Sadly, it's not a very revealing piece of writing. Fortunately, there are bigger hints in the story summary:
The future of planet Earth is sealed in a box in UNIT's Black Archive, and only the Doctor knows what’s inside. With UNIT under Zygon control, and Clara lost, the Doctor and Osgood find themselves fugitives in a London where no one can be trusted - but the wily old Time Lord knows there is one last hope for peace. Because that box in the black archive isn’t any old box. It’s an Osgood Box!
At last, we might see Clara's first visit to the Black Archive, meaning that reference in Day of the Doctor to her having previously visited could finally make sense! Oh, and it appears Clara is "lost" - presumably, the pod people have got her, at least until the end of this story.
