Doctor Who: Series 9 Episode Titles And Plots Announced

4. Episode 9: Sleep No More

Doctor Who Steven Moffat
BBC

Here's another new episode title - "Sleep No More" by Mark Gatiss. That's certainly an evocative name for a story. Based on past experience, the episode title conjures up a scenario wherein people can't fall asleep or something bad will happen to them. If that's true, it might be a little soon for such an idea, what with the most recent Christmas Special having been about dream crabs.

We knew this is the story featuring Reece Shearsmith in a pseudo-Babylon 5 uniform, and we were also fairly sure this was the "found footage" story (think Blair Witch Project). The following summary revealed by Moffat confirms that "found footage" guesswork:

This is footage collected from a space rescue mission. If you value your life, your sanity, and the future of your species, DO NOT WATCH IT.

But, this isn't the only experimental story in Series 9: episode 11 also has a gimmick, and it's a pretty exciting one. At the very least, it stands more chance of succeeding than a found footage adventure. Let's just hope the cameras don't shake too much during Sleep No More.
