Doctor Who Series 10: 12 Easter Eggs & References You Might've Missed In "Knock Knock'
1. Everybody Lives!
A rare thing happens at the end of this episode: everyone who has died during the course of the story is resurrected. In fact, the only previous time that we can think of where this has happened is, famously, in 2005's The Doctor Dances. When the Doctor is able to use the nanogenes to cure the gasmask zombies, he comes out with the classic Ninth Doctor quote: "Just this once, everybody lives!" Of course, now that should be amended to "Just this once... and again in about 12 years' time."
This isn't the only connection to Steven Moffat's debut Doctor Who story in this episode, however. The twist that the Landlord isn't really the wooden woman's father but her son recalls a similar twist in The Doctor Dances. In that story, the titular Empty Child was believed to be Nancy's brother but was in fact her son.
