Doctor Who Series 11: 3 Ups & 4 Downs From 'The Tsuranga Conundrum'

Ups...

3. Pting's CGI Wasn't Dreadful

Doctor Who Pting
BBC

A repeat of the spiders from last week's episode. The BBC have thrown a ton of budget at the wall, and in this episode, that is well-reflected. Pting, aside from the weak antagonist it is, looked pretty spectacular.

For a TV show with notably iffy CGI in the past, Pting is brought to life rather well. Turning to plastic under particular lighting wasn't at all present here, unlike last week's spiders. Perhaps the reason why Pting looked so good the few times it was on screen was because of simply that, we didn't see it that often. The less screen time the thing got, the less the BBC would have to pay whoever to render the thing. Irrelevant of how much we did, or didn't see it, Pting looked pretty great.

Born in Theatre, sits at a Computer. After over a decade of tinkering with Video Editing software, Rich gets to spend his precious time editing whatever's thrown at him. Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
