Doctor Who Series 11: 4 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Kerblam!'

3. The Unnerving Robotic Workforce

Anything trying to look always happy and welcoming is inherently creepy, much like when I come into work in the morning and Jules always has a grin on his face. Eugh. Just these things lurking in the background was creepy enough, but the constant power outages? Every time that happened, you held your breath, waiting for one of them to power up again and have its eyes turn red and pull some laser bazooka out of its rear USB port (if you catch my drift). But they didn’t. Power on, exhale.

Obviously one took Dan away, but some things still weren’t adding up. There was an integral part to the antagonist plot that was missing. Were these robots the main threat, or were they merely pawns in this whole ordeal? Either way, they were very old-school Doctor Who. Something creepy, unnerving, lurking around in plain sight. Like the Ood. Also, thanks Mr Director of Photography for all those eerie head-tilting close ups.

Born in Theatre, sits at a Computer. After over a decade of tinkering with Video Editing software, Rich gets to spend his precious time editing whatever's thrown at him. Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
