Doctor Who Series 11: 5 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Arachnids In The UK'

2. The CGI Not Being Completely Awful

Doctor Who
BBC

After some tense web-traversing and wardrobe opening, we saw the spider. It’s big, it’s creepy, and I almost set fire to my TV. CGI was a little hit and miss across this episode- they are on a TV budget after all- but it was pretty acceptable all things considered. They sometimes looked a little plastic-y, and occasionally the lighting was off, but it didn’t at all detract from just how bloody creepy these things were. The big boy under the floor and coming out from the bathtub? Nope.

Also, why is it that spiders seem more spooky when they’re on the ceiling? Especially that large lad? Ugh. Up for the spiders. I’d never thought I’d say that. If they did this episode back in 2005, man it would’ve looked sh*t.

Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
