Doctor Who Series 12: 10 Things That Need To Happen In The Finale

In the past few days, the BBC has been marketing the finale as an event where 'everything changes'. If they're going to follow through with that promise, then there can't be a happy ending for the Doctor at the end of this. There needs to be consequences for it to work, otherwise the story will fall flat.

Big revelations are coming, that's for sure, and it will likely change Whittaker's incarnation going forwards, possibly into darker territory. Fans of the show will be much more interested and invested in the next series if it deals with the fallout from this finale, and doesn't just fly Team Tardis off for more adventures.

It has been reported that Chris Chibnall has a five-year plan for the show. If we take that as literal time, then we're now in the third year of that plan and at the mid-point of the story he wants to tell. It's a perfect opportunity to make some real changes to the show going forward.
