Doctor Who Series 7: 10 Reasons Why You Must Watch

4. Returning to 'Monsters of the Week'

While I€™m a big fan of series long story arcs, I can€™t find any reason to disagree with Steven Moffat€™s plan to return to more of a €˜Monster of the Week€™ approach. While Moffat€™s story arcs were far superior than Russell T Davies€™ clumsy attempts, I think having another story arc for a third straight season of Moffat€™s run would be pushing it. What is also good about this is the shift to trying to make these episodes more like mini-movies in their own right. It€™s a conscious attempt to capture the fun and excitement of Doctor Who, while combining it hopefully with a dash of €œepic€ to keep those who love long story arcs entertained too. I especially like the posters they€™ve mentioned they want to do for each episode, with Asylum of the Daleks harkening back to science fiction tales of old.
