Doctor Who Series 9: 22 Easter Eggs You Need To See

20. The Mind Palace

Speaking of Mark Gatiss, he also co-runs Sherlock along with Who showrunner Steven Moffat. It seems as though the Moff borrowed a little something from that show this year, in the superb Heaven Sent. In that episode, the Doctor enters his 'mind TARDIS' in order to save himself, essentially a visual representation of his own head space in order to figure out how to save himself. That sounds a lot like the 'mind palace' in Sherlock, which the titular character uses to survive after being shot. We may never get that Doctor Who/Sherlock crossover, but this is at least a nice little nod that fits within the episode as well.
