Doctor Who Series 9: 9 Theories That May Actually Come True
2. The Doctor Kills Davros
This one would be fairly major if it were to happen, with Who knows what repercussions on the universe and the past/present/future of the Daleks and The Doctor. Speculation started in the Daily Mirror earlier this year, and it has picked up pace since, that Caladi's Time Lord would actually murder a young Davros, seemingly based around this quote from Tom Baker's Doctor: "If someone who knew the future pointed out a child to you and told you that child would grow up totally evil, to be a ruthless dictator who would destroy millions of lives, could you then kill that child?" It's believed that means The Doctor is going to have to make a choice, and that he will actually choose to kill the creator of his oldest enemy. The Daleks were in the series 9 trailer, as was a planet that looked a lot like their home, Skaro. Then there was a picture (above) released from the series premiere, that Capaldi at Comic-Con described as hinting "at a battle, it hints at the Doctor being in a very traditional battlefield, in which he tries to help a victim of war€ but it backfires." The murder of Davros would certainly fit the bill with that, but what would the cost be on the show? It would not only make The Doctor a ruthless murderer (something the show hasn't shied away from in the past), but more pertinently would surely wipe the Daleks from history, given Davros wouldn't exist to create them.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
