Doctor Who Series 9: Every Single Episode Previewed
7. Episode 6 - The Woman Who Lived
Written by: Catherine Tregenna Directed by: Ed Bazalgette Guest starring: Tom Stourton, Ariyon Bakare, Simon Lipkin, Ian Conningham, Murray McArthur, Barnaby Kay, John Voce and Struan Rodger The tantalising title of this episode alone was enough to get tongues wagging but fans were also overjoyed to find out that it's been written by the show's first female writer since 2008, which is a very, very shocking - but still very, very real - statistic. Catherine Tregenna has put pen to paper for The Woman Who Lived and she's no stranger to the extended Whoniverse having previously written 4 episodes of Torchwood. Thankfully, they were before it got crap. This story will also feature Rufus Hound as the BBC continues its mantra of hiring guest star comedians for no apparent reason. He'll be playing a character called Sam Strike and recently said that it was "everything he dreamt it would be and more" which is, you know... nice. According to filming pictures, the cast and crew have been getting all medieval for this two-parter so it looks like it's going to be a visual feast, as well as a storytelling one. Just who is Maisie Williams!? Place your bets... now!
