Doctor Who Series 9: Everything We Already Know So Far

4. The Mystery Of Gallifrey

Steven Moffat has done a lot of re-jigging of the mythos of Doctor Who in his time as showrunner, for example his way around of the regeneration problem by having the Time-Lords grant The Doctor a whole new cycle. Another thing he has done is reintroduce the possibility of Gallifrey appearing again in the show, thought to be impossible given it was destroyed in the Time-War. However, now that he's reversed a whole bunch of history with thanks to some timey-wimey working, could we be seeing it in series 9? We know that The Doctor went looking for it last year, leading to a pretty emotional moment of him looking out the TARDIS at where it was supposed to be. However, even though the co-ordinates Missy gave him then were incorrect, Michelle Gomez has stated that the character definitely does know where Gallifrey is, while Moffat in his time running the show has said on various occasions that it's something he wishes to explore. Capaldi, meanwhile, teased at San Diego Comic-Con that the search of Gallifrey will have a part to play in series 9.
