Doctor Who Series 9 New Trailer: 12 Things We Learned
12. Classic Daleks
As had already been confirmed, and in what should be no surprise to anyone, the Daleks are coming back. The oversized pepper shakers will once again be attempting to cause all sorts of mayhem and destruction, presumably before being stopped by their number one enemy, the Doctor. What is great to see here, though, is the mix of Daleks on display. There are the new series ones we're accustomed to, but also a few that are a very clear throwback to the 60s and 70s eras of the show, and the special weapons Dalek, which is a nice nod to the past and should appease all those fans upset when they started making them all sorts of colours. Also in the trailer we see the Supreme Dalek, on a podium raised just above the others. This is the commander of the race, and marks its first appearance in a Capaldi episode, which points to the villains having quite a big part to play.
