Doctor Who: Survivors Of The Flux Review - 6 Ups & 6 Downs

7. DOWN - Joseph Williamson

Doctor Who Flux
BBC

Seriously, what is the deal with this bloke? When he turned up out of the blue once again this week, we have to confess, we rolled our eyes.

Joseph Williamson’s arrival in this week’s B plot seemed to derail the mission somewhat. One moment the gang were attempting to signal Karvanista, but in the very next scene they seem to have abandoned this plan and instead go in search of Williamson after Dan decides it’s something worth doing because there’s not much else to do, we guess?

They track him down immediately (no really, it’s instantaneous) and he gets all excited at their arrival and introduces them to the underground video-game hub world that he’s been using to teleport through space and time. Despite his plot finally being picked up, we still have absolutely no idea what is going on with him, and why he’s got these magic portals in his tunnels, and to tell the truth, we’re starting to find his presence quite grating. The fact that one of his portals led to the random boat that the gang were on also felt rather convoluted, didn’t it?
