Doctor Who: The 5 Best Ninth Doctor Episodes

1. The Parting Of The Ways

Unfortunately, it turns out that the Dalek seen in 'Dalek' was not the last one after all, and in the final episode of series one, The Ninth Doctor must contend with a fleet of Daleks attacking Satellite 5. He tricks Rose into going home in the hope that she will avoid the likely carnage. Rose, of course, has other ideas. She returns to Satellite 5 after absorbing the energy of the time vortex through the TARDIS, and uses it to defeat the Daleks. The energy is too much for a human to handle, and The Doctor makes a drastic decision in order to save his companion's life.

'The Parting Of The Ways' has everything you could want in a Doctor Who finale. An epic Dalek battle, Rose's stint as the 'Bad Wolf', Jack's accidental transformation into an immortal, and of course, The Ninth Doctor's regeneration into the Tenth. It's a shame that Eccleston's best stories came closer to the end of his run, but we certainly won't forget them anytime soon.

Welcome back, Christopher Eccleston! We can't wait to see what Big Finish does with The Ninth Doctor.
