Doctor Who: The Fall Of The Doctor's Ratings?

RTD And Moffat Era Averages

MoffVRtdAverages RTD's era had 61 episodes, with 8 special episodes, and his average ratings worked out at 8.4 million. Moffat's era has had 42 episodes so far, with 3 special episodes, and his average ratings work out at 7.79 million. So Moffat's era has so far had less views per episode, but his regular to special episodes ratio is lower than RTD's (as shown below). It is important to note this, as special episodes generally gain higher viewing figures than regulars. MoffRTDEpisodeBalance RTD's AI worked out at 84.1, whilst Moffat's worked out at 86. So overall the fans seem to enjoy Moffat's era slightly more, though it is also understandable that RTD's era had some less favourable episodes in the first few series as it was still a relatively new show and finding footing. So in terms of showrunning, Moffat's era may have dropped in ratings, but increased in overall quality. However, Moffat has only written 3 in every 7 episodes, where as RTD wrote over half during his era. Let's have a look at only RTD and Moffat penned episodes to see if this has impacted on the ratings and/or quality. RtderaratioMoffateraratio
