9. Jenny Gets Murdered The Name Of The Doctor
Over the last series weve all come to know and love Vastra, Jenny and Strax who were introduced in the series six episode A Good Man Goes To War. So, it was quite devastating to have to face the death of one of these characters so soon after theyd been introduced. Its during a sleep-induced conference call that Jenny meets her fate. The group are getting along well and starting to sort things out when Jenny starts to panic. The Whisper Men surround her and she interrupts the conversation, saying that she should have locked the door. Vastra tries to calm her, reassuring her that it will be ok but her panic just increases. It takes a few more panicked utterances for Vastra to pay attention but by then its too late. All Jenny can do is apologise before revealing that she thinks that she has been murdered, a silent tear rolling down her cheek as she says so. Her form fades away and were left with her wife, Vastra painfully calling after her. Its a strange concept, a character announcing their own murder after it has happened. But it is one that Doctor Who handled very well, for surely everyone watching at least welled up at this scene.
