8. Rory Has To Leave Old Amy The Girl Who Waited
Of course, we all understand his decision choosing the younger, hotter and friendlier version of his wife rather than the old, bitter one but its still heart-breaking having to see him say goodbye to the love of his life. It is done in such a horrible way: lying to the older version of Amy, getting her hopes up that she will be free and then locking her out of the TARDIS. Of course, she cant come in due to the paradox that it will cause but Rory is horrified. The Doctor then gives Rory a choice, placing his hand on the door latch. He has to choose between young and old Amy. Once the older Amy has stopped shouting, she and Rory share a touching moment, their hands placed together on the glass as they reminisce. Then older Amy accepts her death, knowing that Rory shouldnt open the door. Although she has accepted it, its still an upsetting moment as Rory has to sentence one of his wives to her death and he cannot do anything to prevent it.
