Doctor Who: 7 Heartbreaking Moments Of The Revived Series

4. Rose In The Barn

She's right behind you, Ten! Just look! Yes, everybody knows they could have managed just as well without an interface, but fans are still very glad that Steven Moffat used it as an excuse to bring back Rose Tyler - or at least the visage of her, anyway - into the frame during last year's epic 50th anniversary special extravangazathon (that's a word, right?), The Day of the Doctor. It was hard enough to watch the War Doctor's reaction to the free-spirited reincarnation of our beloved shop girl turned Earth Defender, but when the Tenth Doctor turned up, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Or the cinema, depending on where you watching it. The Tenth Doctor and Rose's legion of fans were given all but a brief moment of passing excitement when he looked around with a quizzical look in his eye and hopes of partial reunion were restored. But then he moved on and the collective breath of the nation is let out in a momentous sigh of disappointment. Still, there's always the 100th anniversary to look forward to.
