Doctor Who: What Happened To Each Doctor After They Left The Show?

Last Regular Episode: The Ultimate Foe

The only Doctor to ever be removed from the role, Colin Baker's era is one of the least-beloved in Doctor Who's long history. Thankfully though, his controversial exit didn't exactly leave him jobless in the ensuing years.

Indeed, throughout the decades, he's appeared in TV hits like The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, as well as tons of Britain's biggest soaps and dramas, like Casualty, The Bill, Hollyoaks, and - funnily enough - Doctors. He also did a lap on Top Gear, where he was beaten to the finish line by a Cyberman. That is not a joke.

All that aside, one thing that a lot of viewers will remember him for was his appearance on I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here in 2012, where he finished 8th. He wanted to appear on the show in order to lose some weight, and considering the bare-bones diet he had to put up with, he probably managed to shave off a few pounds with ease.

Baker hasn't returned to play the Doctor in a proper TV episode since his departure, although he's voiced the character in a lot of Big Finish audio dramas.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
