The list begins with something that has been analysed to death by now - the Twelfth Doctors look. When the first promo photo of Capaldi in costume was announced, fans were immediately split down the middle and fashion magazines went nuts picking apart his outfit. Many fashion journos have been calling out the latest iteration of our beloved hero for wearing what they have dubbed the air tie. Yep, thats what people call it when you button your shirt collar at the top and then wear no tie. Naturally, Capaldi isn't the first person to do this. Its been done for decades and has been popularised by countless others (director David Lynch comes immediately to mind), but due to the popularity of Doctor Who, fashion magazines are jumping on the bandwagon and having a right old go at Capaldis sartorial choices. While the look is certainly divisive, its still worth noting that, after 50 years, theres very little one could do with a new look for the Doctor without retreading old ground. If he wore a tie hed have been compared to David Tennant, a neckerchief, Tom Baker, a bow tie, Matt Smith. As such, the air tie was one of the few things left and, as fans have seen from his various public appearances, Capaldi clearly loves the look himself and it has already defined his respective incarnation.
