Dragon Ball Z: Ranking Goku's 10 Best Fights

3. Perfect Cell

The Cell saga is one of the most fondly remembered of the series for DBZ fans, dragging out across nearly 60 episodes. It covers Cell's imperfect form and his transformations, all the way through to the much-loved Cell Games period, and his final battles with Goku and Gohan as the Perfect Cell incarnation.

Cell, in his final form, began his war with Kakarot as a part of the former's Cell Games tournament, battling it out within the confines of the constructed arena, testing each other out as if they both wish to hide their true power before finding out the others' potential.

It's when things start heating up and Cell decides the confines of the tournament arena aren't enough for their war that things get interesting. They both absolutely unleash on each other for episode upon episode as they each take turns holding the upper hand.

Just when it looks like Goku has it won, quite literally incinerating Cell's upper body, the villain regenerates. Goku then shockingly forfeits the battle, claiming Gohan to be the only man that is capable of defeating Cell - but Kakarot's involvement is far from over.

Goku saves the day by transporting Cell to King Kai's planet just as he is about to self-destruct and destroy Earth, saving the day once again through his own sacrifice.
