4. Shock: Ed Harris & Jeffrey Wright Receive Leading Actor Nominations

It was glaringly obvious that Westworld was going to receive a truckload of Emmy nominations, and Ed Harris and Jeffrey Wright were among those to receive a nod.

Harris shone in the second season, playing the villainous William (aka the Man in Black). Similarly, Jeffrey Wright delivered an incredibly complex performance as Bernard (and Arnold), playing the character through the various timelines explored on the show.

Both actors absolutely deserve to have their work on the hit series recognised at the Emmys, but nominating them in the leading actor category is a little ambitious.

While it's true that both men had significantly more to work with this season in comparison to the first, they're still playing supporting characters. It's absurd to consider them leading actors when fellow cast member Thandie Newton was nominated for Supporting Actress, in spite of the fact that she plays a much larger role in the show than the two men in question.
