Emmys 2017 Nominations: 15 Major Shocks & Snubs

3. Snub: Kyle MacLachlan (Best Actor In A Limited Series – Twin Peaks)

Kyle MacLachan's incredible performance in the recent revival of Twin Peaks had everyone talking, and the actor was considered a shoe-in for an Emmy nomination. However, he did not receive one, and it's hard to fathom why.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Twin Peaks was not eligible for the 2017 awards, and thus MacLachlan's momentum cooled off over the past year. That's the only way to make any sense of this snub, which will likely go down in history as one of the Academy's most notable. The celebrated actor not only reprised his iconic role of Special Agent Dale Cooper, he played three iterations of the popular character across the 18 episode masterpiece.

Considering that MacLachlan did receive a Golden Globe nod for his performance, his exclusion here is rather baffling. And disturbing.
