Emmys 2017 Nominations: 15 Major Shocks & Snubs

2. Snub: Emilia Clarke (Best Actress In A Drama Series – Game Of Thrones)

Twin Peaks Emmys
HBO

Game Of Thrones received more nominations than any other series, but that doesn't mean that the HBO series avoided the snubbing. The show's very own leading lady, Emilia Clarke didn't make the cut this year for Best Actress, which is tough to comprehend considering Clarke had more material to work with this season than ever before, and delivered her best performance on the show to date.

Daenerys had her most intense year yet what with having to ride her beloved dragon into battle on several occasions. In addition to this, Dany also met her enemies for the first time, and had to bid farewell to one of her beautiful beasts. This heartbreak gave Clarke plenty of opportunities to showcase her ability.

Considering the esteemed actress has received nominations for her portrayal of Daenerys in previous years, it seemed as though she would be a shoo-in for this year. Much like the other snubs on the list, this just doesn't make any sense.
