8. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Season 2)

There's one word that comes to mind when discussing Kimmy Schmidt's second season: "consistent". If you disliked the sitcom-ness and the unerring optimism of the title character last time, you won't be moved to change your mind this time, but if you were on-board, this is basically just more of the same.

Ellie Kemper continues to be luminous in her star-making role, and while Tina Fey and Robert Carlock threaten to heighten the absurdity at the expense of dramatic truth (especially with one potentially offensive racial gag that for many derailed an entire episode), they still mostly come out on top.

Above all else, season two proves this show could have some major legs for the coming years.
