11. Arrow Season 7

The seventh season of Arrow brought with it a major change of pace for the show as, for the first time, the status quo had been completely shattered.

Oliver's imprisonment at Slabside changed things up for the better and paved the way for a number of new and unique prison-centric storylines which allowed the show to return to its darker roots. That also worked well on the outside, as Laurel, Felicity, the SCPD and A.R.G.U.S. all had their own reasons for desperately attempting to track down Ricardo Diaz.

This all led to a number of new and unique dynamics - particularly the unexpectedly endearing friendship between Laurel and Felicity - which made for a strong first half.

Unfortunately, a lack of interest in figuring out who its main villain truly was, and a lack of interest in Emiko altogether, resulted in a problematic second half that ultimately fell apart in a rushed season finale that was more worried about setting up the final season (and giving Felicity an unnecessarily long farewell) than wrapping up Season 7 in a fulfilling way.

That said, the season produced some outstanding episodes, including the equally brilliant 'The Slabside Redemption', 'Lost Canary' and 'Confessions'.
