Every Arrowverse Season Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Supergirl Season 1

Arrowverse CW
CBS

Supergirl's debut season is perhaps the least Arrowverse an Arrowverse show has ever felt, and that's because crossovers and multiverses were never really on the cards until halfway through its run - due to the fact that it aired on CBS instead of The CW. It had its own unique, standalone tone that set it apart from the rest, and it rocked it.

Focusing on the Girl of Steel's early days as a superhero, the show detailed how Kara's desire to help people outweighed her feelings of self-doubt and how that ultimately propelled her to become the hero that National City desperately needed her to be. The CatCo environment ended up encouraging her a lot more than she ever thought it would, and it provided the show with a larger-than-life aesthetic that it simply doesn't have anymore.

On that note, Calista Flockhart's show-stealing turn as Cat Grant is one of the main reasons why later seasons will probably never reach these heights ever again, as it was the scenes between her and Melissa Benoist's Kara that truly grounded this ambitious series with some realistic character development.

It wasn't all perfect, as some of the villains were pretty dull and the forced romance between Kara and James really weighed a portion of it down, but it was triumphant, powerful and even a little bit cheesy - a heroic combination that never failed to bring a smile to the faces of countless viewers.
