Every Arrowverse Season Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Arrow Season 5
Following the travesty that was Season 4, Arrow bounced back with an admirably strong fifth season that turned its back on magic and Olicity (at least temporarily) in its attempt to return the show to its darker, grounded roots. This attempt was a highly successful one, as the show found itself once more in a small, contained narrative that didn't revolve around the end of the world or an ancient leader but instead focused solely on Oliver and how his mistakes birthed one of his greatest adversaries.
Prometheus is, without a doubt, one of the greatest villains to ever make his presence felt in the Arrowverse. A terrifying panic-inducing zombie-like archer, his burlap mask solidified him as a visual threat, while his intricate plot to slowly pick Oliver apart (which he partially accomplished with a smile through his everyday activities as his best friend D.A. Adrian Chase) was nothing short of villainous brilliance.
There were issues, such as one-dimensional characters like Evelyn and the unnecessary introduction of another Black Canary in Dinah Drake when we already Black Siren, but overall, Season 5 is among the best that the Arrowverse has to offer and proved to be a thoroughly compelling narrative, packed full of intense storytelling and outstanding fight choreography.
