Every Big Mouth Main Character Ranked

Jay is undoubtedly one of the funniest characters on Big Mouth. A parody of “dude bro” culture, Jay is the product of a home ruled by toxic masculinity; his father is a sleazy divorce lawyer who hates women, his two brothers are psychotic thugs who treat women with as much respect as their father does and his mother is a drunk who has to leave herself sticky notes to remind herself that she has a son.

Perpetual comedy guest-star Jason Mantzoukas plays the role with his signature raspy voice, manic energy and ability to wander off topic constantly. Jay is an aspiring magician which often earns him mocking disapproval from his peers, and his inability to form meaningful human attachments results in him having an overly familiar and frankly insane relationship with his pillow.

There isn’t much redeeming about Jay but he is one of the funniest characters in the show. His home life is a nightmarish circus and his frequent clueless exclamations about how life and sex work often play for excellent comic effect.
