Every Black Mirror Episode Ranked Worst To Best
21. The Waldo Moment
Gotta give it credit for prophesising the rise of populist politicians (à la Donald Trump) - something which has seen it age well since its lukewarm reception - but despite its real-life parallels, The Waldo Moment is still a major Black Mirror flop.
The episode follows Jamie (Daniel Rigby), a comedian who voices a blunt and bizarre blue bear on a TV show. Because reasons, Waldo finds himself with a chance to get involved in politics, and Jamie has to confront Britain's political landscape and his own morality.
On the nose to an almost offensive level, The Waldo Moment spends its entire runtime playing the "Politicians are bad" card, and by the end it's just too crude and tasteless to be enjoyed.
Black Mirror is at its best when tackling social issues head-on whilst allowing the audience to think for themselves, and The Waldo Moment fails at every turn.
