Every Classic Doctor Who Companion Ranked From Worst To Best

19. Harry Sullivan

The Doctor and Ace
BBC

Harry Sullivan almost crossed paths with the Third Doctor but missed him by a couple of weeks. He had been summoned by the Brigadier to aid the man as he lay in a coma, yet he only met the Doctor after his regeneration into the Fourth incarnation. He also met Sarah-Jane Smith, beginning a friendship that would last for decades and also see him entering the TARDIS for the first time.

Harry was present during one of the most important stories in all of Doctor Who, Genesis of the Daleks. He, along with the Doctor and Sarah-Jane, meet Davros in the days before the Daleks are released on the universe. He would also meet the Zygons with the Doctor as well, though he develops a type of gas that destroys them.

In the end, Harry simply chooses to go home without any grand ceremony. Though he was a vital part of the team for a time, he wasn't a massively memorable one. He did stay in touch with Sarah-Jane, who noticed his absences during their scheduled annual catch up, as he was declared missing in action.
