Every Dragon Ball Z Saga Ranked From Worst To Best
10. Anrdoids
Few sagas had a more tangible feeling of dread than the Android arc. It also has an atmosphere of uncanny nostalgia, bringing back the Red Ribbon Army from the original Dragon Ball anime.
Trunks earlier had set the stage, warning of a potentially dark future ahead if the heroes don't prevail. Goku also has the looming threat of a heart virus inside his own body, which gives him a tangible flaw that flares up at the worst possible time. Goku ends up succumbing to the virus' effects just as he's battling against the stoic Android 19.
Thankfully, in comes a non-infected super saiyan Vegeta to make up for Goku's short comings.
To make things worse though, Androids 19 and 20 weren't even the real threat. When Dr. Gero awakens Androids 17 and and 18, who in turn bring out 19, things are looking to become as terrible as Trunks told them. The ensemble prove to be more devastating than the ones Trunks faced in his own timeline, and without Goku present, the Z-fighters are actually unable to stop the three androids.
The saga begins with dread, and ends with more dread as fans have to wonder if Goku can even be powerful enough to stop the androids. If not Goku, then something more powerful than anyone could have had in mind would have to show up.
