Every Dragon Ball Z Saga Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Vegeta
Before perishing, Raditz told Goku of two other Saiyans.
From that day, the Z-figthers set themselves on a lengthy training regiment, while Gohan took on a special survival expedition lead by his new father figure in Piccolo.
Gohan immediately establishes himself as having a mysterious source of power, able to become the great ape, while also succeeding at the strenuous tests imposed on him by the namekian. Goku, meanwhile, in the afterlife learns the ways of the kaio-ken and the spirit bomb, before being wished back to life by the dragon balls.
With the pieces set, in come the saiyans, Nappa, and Vegeta, flanked by the kamikaze saibamen. They run through the all-stars of the old Dragon Ball series. Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Tien, they all fall. Even when Goku does arrive and disposes of the brutish Nappa, Vegeta still poses more than just a threat to Goku's livelihood.
From their fight, the dynamic between the two warriors is set. Goku fights for a purpose to protect those he loves, while Vegeta will go to any lengths to solidify his superiority over someone, even if that means having to full ape-mode.
This saga sacrificed the legends of old just to make room for the new guard, establishing all the heroes that even causal fans of DBZ would know and love.
