Every Dragon Ball Z Saga Ranked From Worst To Best

After a long ride through the Namek arc, the Z-fighters had an entertaining 7 episode scrap with Frieza's mercenary squad, the Ginyu Force. Each fighter had some fun little quirk to make each fight a bit more interesting. More than anything else though, they did their job as being more fodder for Vegeta to burn through, with Goku being taken out of commission thanks to the body-swap at the hands of Captain Ginyu.

This particularly arc is also memorable as it has the first fight involving Frieza, only in his first form, but still looking dominant against a random Namekian.

While not entirely filler, not much else happens in this arc, making it much more of a fun pallet cleanser before the mood gets intense again with the coming Frieza saga. Tension hangs over this one. While Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta were all able to dispose of the Ginyu force without too much exertion, Frieza's shadow still loomed in the distance, foreshadowing a deadly foe ahead.

The best thing that the Ginyu saga does is set the stage for what's to come. All of Frieza's cronies are out of the way, now comes the real showdown for all the marbles, er, dragon balls.
