Weddings are almost always fun, especially in a fantasy setting where the traditional rules don't apply, and this episode certainly does an excellent job of giving you a wild and shocking ceremony. It ranks lower on the list thanks to a few factors, with the most notable being that the closing moments feel stylistically a little cheesy and fairy-tale-like as compared to the dark fantasy we have seen thus far.

Despite this, the majority of the episode's flaws can be excused thanks to the incredibly fun premise, wonderful character work and phenomenal introduction of the law of surprise concept - which of course goes on to become a significant factor for the rest of the series.

After Jaskier employs Geralt to join him at the wedding of Queen Calanthe's daughter Pavetta as a bodyguard, the Witcher gets more than what he bargained for. After a cursed man who has the appearance of a creature appears and claims Pavetta's hand a brawl and a then compelling argument ensues about the rightful suitor to the Princess.

The episode is simple but presents a great curse that brings forward a lot of questions about magic and the world that the characters inhabit. Additionally, this is possibly the funniest episode, with Geralt and Jaskier's interactions with the members of court leading to some great moments.
