Every Episode Of The Witcher Ranked Worst To Best
4. Bottled Appetites
One of the most pervasive aspects of the Witcher series that makes it so compelling is the connection between Yennefer and Geralt. The two have a vast amount of chemistry, and thus this was something the show needed to achieve as a priority. Thankfully Cavill and Chalotra have heaps of on-screen tension and connection, and this episode is the first time you genuinely see the sparks fly.
We begin as Geralt attempts to capture a Djinn and soon ends up almost killing Jaskier. He brings the troublesome bard to Yennefer so help him, and she eventually ends up trying to take the Djinn for herself to gain even more power than she already has.
Everything comes together very well here, as the concept of the episode is very simple, but the character work drives it through. Seeing Yen in her element as an ultimate sorceress is inspiring, plus Geralt as the wise but troubled warrior looking for some peace works so well, and Jaskier is on fire as a comic relief position in the chapter.
It's straightforward and utterly full of fantastic acting - especially from Anya Chalotra who puts in one of her best performances in this episode.
