Every Episode Of Tiger King Ranked

1. Episode Five - Make America Exotic Again

Alright, let's get one thing out of the way first. What makes this episode the most insane out of every single one isn't the fact that Joe Exotic ran for President - look at what we're stuck with right now, is President Joe Exotic really that weird? No, it's not that, nor is it the fact that Joe hands out condoms with his face on them. Nor is it the fact that Joe blows up a whole bunch of stuff. Woo! Yeah!

No, the reason Make America Exotic Again is at the top of this list not necessarily because it's crazy, but rather because it's a sombre and sobering episode that exposes Joe for who he truly is. In this episode Joshua Dial, Joe's campaign manager, is interviewed and describes his time with Joe as the worst of his life. A big reason for that may be due to witnessing Travis, one of Joe's husbands, commit suicide in front of him - footage which we're privy to, but, thankfully, Travis is out of shot.

We're then later told by a number of people - including John and Travis themselves - that Joe's husband's weren't gay, and he used meth as a way of keeping them by his side. He admits it himself that he considers homosexual men no challenge, boring. Travis' mother also reveals that Joe remarried two months after Travis' death.

This episode destroyed any delusion that Joe Exotic was a flamboyant, eccentric, lovable showman. He was a vile, deranged predator, nothing more.

Johnny sat by the fire, idly swirling his brandy, flicking through the pages of War and Peace, wondering whether it was pretentious to write his bio in the third person.
