Every Inside No. 9 Episode Ranked From Worst To Best

23. And The Winner Is...

Inside No 9
BBC

Plot: A jury debate over who should win an award for Best Actress.

Location: A meeting room.

This criminally underrated episode might be the worst of the show's FANTASTIC fourth season, but that's only a testament to just how incredible that season was. And the Winner Is... was light and low-stakes, but that certainly shouldn't have meant it often gets pegged as one of the worst episodes to date.

No-one's dying or in any real danger here, so this one is basically a light-hearted comedy - and it's a very good one at that. The people on the jury are a round-up of hilarious, fully developed characters, excellently played by all involved, and they also become a mouthpiece for some very entertaining social commentary about the film and TV industry.

The entire thing is a thoroughly entertaining dialogue-based comedy with plenty of great laughs, and it deserves so much more credit than it currently gets. The final twist is pointless and it might be a less comfortable watch now since Noel Clarke is in it, but for the most part it's a hell of a lot of fun.
