Every Marvel Comic Book TV Show Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Luke Cage

A decade after Blade: The Series, Marvel - with the help of Netflix - finally brought TV the black superhero we'd been waiting for.

After being introduced in solid but unspectacular fashion in Jessica Jones, Mike Colter really got the chance to shine here. He grasped it with both of his unbreakable hands, even if he was bettered by at least a couple of his cast mates (specifically Simone Missick as Misty Knight, and Mahershala Ali as Cornell Stokes).

After three seasons in Hell's Kitchen, the action moves up to Harlem, which becomes a character in the show itself as the area Luke fights so hard to protect. The first half of the season in particular is riveting, with the drama and tension between Cage and Cottonmouth (another brilliant entry into the gallery of Netflix Marvel villains) particularly compelling.

Things do slump in the final third or so, with Diamondback a far less convincing bad guy, and it leaves the series as a bit of a 'what could've been'. Even within that, though, the cast largely remains excellent, and it provides an excellent study of what it means to be black and a superhero.
