Every MCU TV Show Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Agent Carter: Season 1
The fantastic Marvel One-Shot (remember those?) continued the adventures of the fan-favourite Agent Carter as it condensed pulpy espionage intrigue, gender politics and some cracking good action, into a perfect little package. The demand was high to expand the concept into a full show yet the hype made it unbearably difficult to pull off.
Somehow they completely did though, encapsulating everything that made the short work and successfully spreading over a season arc. Halley Atwell was as stunning, whip-smart and as fierce as ever in the titular role. She was bolstered by some slick cinematic thrills, lush era-stylings of 1940s New York and a genuine old-fashioned sense of fun.
More importantly, it didn't feel throwaway (like its following season) as it successfully expanded the MCU in revealing ways as it furthered the adventures of Howard Stark and hinted at the early steps of S.H.I.E.L.D. Surely some of Carter’s underdog status could grow tired but conclusively it was a necessary barrier for the character to vault.
It all results in a slick, funny and exciting product that easily stands as the most charming effort Marvel's TV unit has put out to date.
