Every MCU TV Show Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Daredevil: Season 1
This one was initially a risky endeavour even if actual comic book fans rested easy. You see, Daredevil had always been Marvel’s Batman; a layered anti-hero that operates in a world closer to a Scorsese movie than your average Disney fare. It sparked with potential for a live-action small screen adaptation - yet, to make it work, it just needed the right talent in place.
Good thing then that gifted show-runner Steven D. Knight was spearheading the effort, with the spot-on hiring of Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann Woll (the less said about Foggy the better, though).
Let's cut to the chase though and mention the most perfect castings in the entire MCU; Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. The vastly underrated character actor fit the role physically, but also carried the hefty chops to portray this fascinating and broken human and his journey into villainy - it's likely the best Marvel bad guy ever (sorry Thanos).
Certainly, there are flaws - Murdock’s powers are never cleverly established, the format can drag and a lot of it felt like a warm-up for better things to come. Regardless, this was an impressively mature take on a (commonly) juvenile TV sub-genre that quickly set the precedent for all wannabes in its wake.
