Every Power Rangers Series Ranked From Worst To Best

2. Power Rangers In Space

Legendary Battle Power Rangers
Saban Entertainment

After Turbo almost sank the ship, it was time for the Power Rangers to head in a new direction.

Typically, when a franchise decides to go into space, it's a sign that the series has jumped the shark. However, this direction made perfect sense for the Power Rangers and even became one of the biggest critical and commercial successes in the franchise's history.

This series acted as the dramatic climax to the six-year-long saga of the Zordon Era. It saw the Turbo Rangers make the jump to space to rescue their mentor Zordon from the clutches of the United Alliance of Evil, led by Dark Specter and featuring classic villains like Rita, Lord Zedd, the Machine Empire and more.

In Space truly was the series that saved the franchise, as the twist towards more mature storytelling and enormous stakes made audiences fall in love with it, and the new space theme was a natural evolution for the story. It brought just about enough of what fans knew and loved while innovating and switching the dynamic.

If the Rangers series had ended here - as was originally planned - then it would have been the perfect note to end on.
