Every Season Of Archer Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Season 3
As mentioned previously in this article, the best episodes of Archer are the ones where all the characters are thrown into a similar situation and have to bounce dialogue and relationships off one another.
The third season is full to the brim with these kinds of episodes; and it meets its peak is when the big season finale sends the ISIS team into space to thwart mutineers on a space station. It's an elevation in stakes that sets a tone for the show moving forward.
The third season includes some of the best one-off episodes, including another gathering at Mallory's apartment, a trip to Ray's hometown and an episode on a train that could rival season one's "Skytanic" in terms of hilarious use of characters around a main plot.
Where the season does fall down though is some of the odd story beats throughout; a casual relationship between Sterling and Pam makes for a few good laughs, but ultimately it doesn't embolden either of the characters, and the return of an even more unhinged cybernetic Barry should have been a highlight but after the conclusion of the second season, it felt like the show was retracing its steps a little.
