Every Season Of How I Met Your Mother Ranked Worst To Best
3. Season 3
Season 3 gives us a very different Ted, one who has just broken up with Robin and vows to be more like Barney. As such, the first half of the season sees Ted's attempts to sleep around the way Barney does, putting his quest for "the one" on hold.
However, after a jarring episode about halfway through the season called No Tomorrow, Ted discovers that this version of him sucks. He's immature, lame, and above all else, rude. No Tomorrow serves as a wake up call for Ted, who symbolically finds the Mother's Yellow Umbrella, and starts to act like himself again.
No Tomorrow isn't the only drastic character change in Season 3, as Barney slowly discovers that he has feelings for Robin. This is the first time we see a version of Barney that would even consider a relationship, and it shows how far he has come.
After two seasons of falling in love with these characters, Season 3 lets them grow more than they ever have. They start to become different people while still keeping the charm that's always made them so lovable. While episodes like How I Met Everyone Else and Spoiler Alert explore their past, the rest of the season sets them up for their future.
Plus, the humour is as funny as ever.
