Every Season Of Prison Break Ranked Worst To Best
2. Season 2
Season Two jumps straight back into the action, with the Fox River Eight having somewhat successfully escaped and are now on the run. Some of them continue their quest to uncover the truth behind Lincoln's set up by 'The Company' as the rest flee in pursuit of reuniting with their loved ones.
The second instalment does a solid job in keeping the show fresh, utilizing the fact that Michael, Lincoln and the rest have escaped, by having the action take place anywhere and everywhere, from Mexico to Chicago to Panama. New faces come in, most notably the the season's main antagonist, FBI Special Agent, Alexander Mahone (William Fitchner) who plays his part in three of the Fox River Eight's demises, including killing David Apolskis, aka "Tweener" (Lane Garrison) in cold blood.
The chemistry between Scofield and Mahone is compelling, as is the manhunt for the inmates. However, depending on how you look at it, the use of Michael's blueprint tattoos to fix plot holes, can either be seen as an ingenious way of demonstrating Scofield's intelligence or an example of negligent and lackadaisical writing, which would be more common place in later seasons.
