Meg Griffin is typically just the butt of jokes in Family Guy, and you won’t find many people who’d have her as their favourite character. But here’s the thing; Family Guy writers are experts at making people the butt of jokes.

Meg might not be anyone’s favourite, but the same can be said for everyone below her too. Once we enter the top ten, that starts to ring less and less true. Of the bottom half, though, Meg comes out on top.

Meg episodes on their own aren’t great - Peter even makes a joke about this, inviting you to change the channel - but they’re a bit better than they’re given credit for.

Yes, Brian, Peter or Stewie episodes are usually the best, but examining the most recent Family Guy season sees Meg do surprisingly well. Griffin Winter Games and Girl, Internetted were both decent offerings from her which fly in the face of her reputation.

She’s still best when she’s taking the hits though. She tried to fight back a few years ago in Seahorse Seashell Party, but it didn’t land. When she just absorbs zingers, she gets a lot of laughs.

Basically, shut up Meg.
