13. Star Trek III: The Search For Spock (1984)

Star Trek Seven And Janeway
CBS

Although at first glance, it may seem like a cheap gimmick to resurrect Spock from the dead, right after killing him in such a dramatic way in the previous movie, but the way it's done in The Search For Spock is so cool that we can let it slide.

Before dying, Spock transferred his "katra" (basically his soul) into McCoy's mind. Later in the movie, Spock grows a new body with help from the life-creating force of the Genesis planet, which later has his katra implanted on it. This was a very original way to revive the character.

The movie has a few other standout moments like the crew stealing the Enterprise from Spacedock to save Spock, Kirk's son's tragic death, and the destruction of the Enterprise.

The resurrections of Spock slightly cheapens the end of The Wrath Of Khan, but is creative and serves the story well. Also, what is the Original Series crew without Spock?
